A $600 million investment, this 10ha waterfront project includes 470 apartments and villas, its own town centre, a marina, boardwalk, parkland and a beach.
Collaboration the key to design success
Great design is the hallmark of Salacia Waters.
This was achieved through an integrated design approach led by RobertsDay that included adoption of an urban design code to deliver a compatible architectural style across the project.
Today, the buildings engage effortlessly with the public realm, creating a wonderful network of streets, parks and promenades enjoyed by this thriving new community.
Designed for community above all else, the project has delivered significant wins for local residents, including extensive waterfront parkland, an easy walk to the shops, and views from nearly every vantage-point.
A blueprint for innovation
The Gold Coast City Council was so enamored with RobertsDay’s approach that it engaged us to prepare a city-wide urban design checklist based on the same principles. Form based coding is now enshrined in the Gold Coast’s planning framework, positioning the Council as urban design leaders.

We used our Great Places Process to guide the design collaboration to ensure a high quality, high density outcome that enabled a record sale.
Salacia Waters was the largest project to commence construction on the Gold Coast during the Global Financial Crisis, testament to the confidence in the project’s commercial robustness and design excellence.
